It’s been a while since I last posted anything so I thought today would be a good opportunity to publish photos of my latest completed build.
This is my 1/48 Hasegawa F/A-18C Hornet in the markings of VFA-87 “War Party”. The kit was for the most part built straight from the box, the only modifications being the pilot figure and his bang seat.
I also added weapons from the Hasegawa weapon set D to replicate a war load carried by this Hornet during the early weeks of the Campaign of Operation Enduring Freedom.
The markings that inspired this build came courtesy of Two Bobs Aviation Graphics. This build will be posed on a 1/48 Carrier deck to be completed in the near future. Here she is then, call sign “Party 400” all bombed up and ready to go!
So that’s my VFA-87 Hornet finished! The next time you see this one she will be on the deck ready to launch as part of my Operation Enduring Freedom diorama. Hope to see you then!
Take care and Happy Modelling!
Darren.
